The German Integration Course for Youngsters comprises a language course and an orientation course. The language course addresses key topics from day-to-day life, for example shopping, leisure, health and the media. A particular focus is placed on education and jobs. You learn to write letters and emails, to understand conversations on television, to read newspapers, to make telephone calls etc. A wide range of communication exercises, such as dialogue training, role plays, rounds of discussion etc. help you to improve your spoken German. Trips and excursions give you the chance to put your newly acquired language skills into practice. Your group is small and made up of young people up to 26 years old.
The language course comprises a basic language course, which encompasses levels A1 and A2, as well as an advanced language course to reach level B1. Regular vocabulary and text production tests, as well as two internal interim tests (A1 and A2), help you to assess what you have learned and your skills. The course concludes with the accredited telc examination „German test for immigrants“ (A2/B1).
You attend the orientation course alongside the language course. Here you learn important information about the German legal system, history and culture. You learn about your rights and obligations inGermany, and discuss values that are important in Germany, for example equality and freedom of religion. At the end of the orientation course you take part in a final examination.
