The German for Studying course is geared at those without any prior knowledge of German. It guides you towards the TestDaF examination, which gives you access to studying in Germany, in a step-by-step way. The TestDaF certificate is accepted by all German universities as proof of advanced German language skills.
The course is mainly geared towards the following people:
- Those who wish to embark on a degree inGermany, and require proof of German language skills for this
- Students who need to prove their German language skills in their home countries
- Researchers who wish to prepare themselves for a placement at a German university, as well as
- People who need to prove their German language skills for their scientific jobs
You learn to express yourself in German in a spontaneous and fluent way, and learn to understand native speakers easily with the help of listening exercises. You read all kinds of texts, from literary to scientific texts, and practise writing such texts yourself; in the beginning short emails and personal letters, building up to reports and presentations. Internal interim tests (A1, A2 and B2) help you to monitor your learning progress and to assess it correctly. In addition to the TestDaF examination, you have the option of taking part in further accredited language examinations, such as the German test for immigrants (A2-B1) or the German B2 and C1 examinations.
